Gama Aviation increases UAE maintenance footprint.
In advance of the opening of its flagship Business Aviation Centre located at Sharjah International Airport, the company is introducing its Mobile Service Team services across the country. Gama Aviation’s Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (”MRO”) strategic business unit is pleased to announce the launch of a Mobile Service Team (“MST”) and line maintenance station at DWC Al Maktoum International VIP terminal.
The MST service will be based at Sharjah International and Al Maktoum International, providing services to UAE, Bermudan, Cayman, UK, San Marino registered Bombardier Global Express series, Challenger (604/05/50), Embraer 135/145/ ERJ variants and King Air series. EASA certification is pending, and new aircraft types will be added in due course.
Dan Dowling, Head of Maintenance, Middle East, comments: “As we prepare for the opening of the Business Aviation Centre, our aim is to develop a series of regional services hubs that will assist operators with their AOG, line maintenance and minor scheduled needs. The first of these is at Al Maktoum International where we see strong demand for these services.”
Paul Kinch, Managing Director, MRO, comments: “This is a natural extension of the MRO services we will be delivering from our Business Aviation Centre in Sharjah replicating the same ‘hub and spoke’ MST service model that we successfully developed in the US. While our initial focus will be the business aviation hubs situated along the corridor between Sharjah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi, we aim to extend the network to other Emirates and beyond over the next couple of years.”
2024 has been a busy period for the MRO business. New rotary contracts in Kuwait and Bahrain have expanded its geographic reach, while the recent announcement of its Embraer Authorised Service Centre has seen the introduction of new capabilities for the Phenom 300 series and base maintenance for the Legacy 600/650 series.
Gama Aviation will be attending MEBAA between 10 -12th December and can be found on stand 1170 within the main exhibition hall.
